My Sister, Who Doesn't Knit

I have a sister who does not knit, does not crochet and has no interest in any form of needlework. Imagine, SHE has a sister who has a yarn business and has no interest in what's new and exciting!
I recently told her about a dear customer who had just purchased 4 skeins of Great Adirondack's Pashmina Serengetti at $87 a hank. This just happens to be, in my humble opinion, the most luxurious yarn we've ever stocked. ( See photo above) Who wouldn't want that beauty? All cashmere, all luxury, all gorgeous.
Her reaction was " you mean to tell me someone spent $348 and then has to make a garment"? She just couldn't believe it and I was amazed at her reaction. "For $348, I want it already made," she told me.
Imagine, my sister will never know the fun of opening a new bag of yarn and savoring the gorgeous colors. I'll have to make peace with the fact that she'll probably never experience the adrenaline rush I feel touching a super soft yarn. I'll have to accept the fact that she'll never call me and tell me her head is spinning with ideas about this new yarn she just got her hands on.
Well, I can hope.
P.S. If you want more information about Great Adirondack's Pashmina Serengetti, here's a link :

My sister doesn't knit either, even though she was the one who taught me to knit when I was 8.

We now live several states apart and she often request that I "make her something" but then freaks out when I give her links to yarn to pick out and she sees how many balls and how much it costs. Somehow, her idea of a hand knitted item should cost what she would spend in a discount store and be treated as such.

I feel sorry that she can never enjoy the luxury of a gorgeous yarn full of color... wearing something that costs more but feels so gorgeous when she is wearing it that she feels like a queen.

A special person gets something that is *made* just for them and does not look like something "off the rack!"
